Briggs expands in Mexico

Briggs International the Dallas, Texas based equipment dealer and rental company has acquired Maquinaria Ligera Equinter, one of Mexico’s largest rental companies, more than quadrupling the number of outlets it has in the country.

Mexico City based Equinter sells and rents a wide range of equipment including Bobcat, Pettibone and Ausa.

Briggs already has four locations and 285 employees in Mexico, while Equinter has nine locations and 300 staff. The company had revenues in the region of around $29 million prior to the acquisition.

Briggs, which is owned by Sammons Corporation, also has a major aerial lift rental fleet in the southern states of the USA, is also the CAT industrial fork lift distributor for the UK.
