Locatelli launches ATEX Crane

Italian crane manufacturer Locatelli has designed and built an explosion proof version of its 30 tonne GRIL 8300T Rough Terrain crane.

The crane has been sold to gas supplier, GNL Italia for work within flammable areas of one of its plants. The sale agreement included theoretical and practical training on the use and maintenance of the crane and its safety systems.

The ATEX certified Locatelli Gril 8300T

The modification is a classic full ATEX modification to the old Zone 1 or 2 levels, Locatelli says that following this exercise it is now able to offer ATEX certification on all of its cranes.
