Man dies from scaffold fall

A building worker died after falling from scaffolding at a sewage treatment plant near Shrewsbury last Thursday evening.

The man, who was in his 20s, died at the Severn Trent plant in Minsterley on Thursday evening August 27th. He was working for sub-contractor Bell at the site on Horsebridge Road. Shrewsbury.
Severn Trent Water said the incident has been referred to the Health and Safety Executive which is handling the investigation into what happened.

Ambulance crews from Shrewsbury tried to resuscitate the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The police and fire service remained at the site during the evening to gather evidence.
