Finning take on Perkins for the UK

Perkins engines of Peterborough, UK, one of the world's leading manufacturers of diesel engines and subsidiary of Caterpillar has appointed Finning UK as its distributor for mainland UK.

Finning will take over responsibility for the Perkins'
distribution business from December 2004. Estimated annual
Revenue in the first full year of distribution will be
approximately £20 million.

Perkins engines have been widely used by JCB and are gaining a strong foothold in the self propelled aerial lift market.

Doug Whitehead, President and Chief Executive Officer of Finning
noted: "This is an important milestone for Finning in its
strategy to grow its global power and energy business. In
addition to carrying Caterpillar-branded line of engines,
expansion of our product line to include other Caterpillar-owned
engine products in our existing territories is an important step
in this strategy."

Paul Jarvis, President of Finning Power Systems, also noted: "We
are very excited to be granted this important distribution
opportunity. This is the home market for Perkins, and their
confidence in awarding this to us speaks to our ability to invest
and create the appropriate infrastructure for selling and
servicing Perkins engines in the UK."
