China service for Deutz

German diesel engine manufacturer Deutz is opening a sales and service operation in China.

The company already has a representative office and two joint ventures in China, producing locally manufactured engines. The new sales and service company will bring together all of the company's activities in the Chinese market.

Bernd Freudenmann, 37, will be the new company's chief executive. He has more than seven years' experience working in various senior managerial positions for Deutz in the Asia region. Most recently, heading Deutz Asia-Pacific (Pte) Ltd, the Deutz subsidiary in Singapore.
