Over 90 cranes go at Ritchies auction

Ritchie Bros sold over 90 cranes for more than $9 million during its auction in Houston, Texas last week.

More than 3,200 people from 42 countries, including 47 U.S. states, registered to bid in person or online in real time at www.rbauction.com.

Alan McVicker, regional manager for Ritchie Bros said: "We had a very successful auction with pricing on equipment and cranes well exceeding our expectations. The large selection of cranes attracted buyers from around the world and the bidding action remained high throughout the entire auction."

The cranes were snapped up by buyers from the USA, Mexico, Spain, Chile, Venezuela, Canada and the United Arab Emirates purchased cranes in the auction. Among the cranes sold were:

- A 2008 Tadano GR800XL 80-ton Rough Terrain crane that sold for
$430,000 and a 2008 Tadano GR600XL1 60-ton RT that
sold for $400,000, both purchased by buyers from Canada.

- A 2006 Link-Belt 138H 80-ton crawler crane purchased by a local buyer
for $425,000

- A 2001 Manitowoc 111 Series B 80-ton crawler crane purchased by a
buyer from Arizona for $355,000

- Plus more than 70 Rough Terrain cranes and a selection of All-Terrain,
crawler and carry deck cranes

Ritchies has a large auction scheduled at is Dutch site in Moerdijk for the second half of September, which already includes several hundred aerial llifts.
