Salt mine boom truck

Scott Powerline Equipment of Monroe, Louisiana has delivered an Elliott 30105R boom truck with work platform, crane and rock drill to the North American Salt Mine Company to work on salt mining operations 470 metres underground.

The Elliot 30105R boom truck, platform and salt drill

Elliott Equipment’s engineers worked closely with North American Salt to modify the 30105R crane with the addition of a specialised 1,000 lbs (450kgs) hydraulic drill attached to an integrated aerial work platform with 360 kgs platform capacity.
The machine allows two miners to move close to the mine face and drill from within the work platform, saving both time and money.

In order to transfer the boom truck down the mine, the entire vehicle was dismantled and rebuilt underground.
