Snorkel appoints US president

Aerial work platform manufacturer Snorkel has promoted David Smith to president of Snorkel North America, from the position of vice president, operations.

Smith joined the Kansas-based company in 2004 and has held a number of senior management positions within the company.

Brendan Campbell, chief operating officer of parent company, Tanfield Powered Access, who has headed up the Snorkel US operation on an interim basis, said: “We have needed a strong leader to head up the US operation for some time and David has proved over the past six years that he really understands and believes in Snorkel’s core values.”

“As president of our North American operations, David’s experience and leadership will be invaluable, as we continue to strengthen our business and prepare Snorkel for the economy’s rebound.”

Smith’s appointment follows the recent recruitment of three senior personnel in product support, finance and supply chain as well as rolling out a new global branding.
