Chairman change at Lavendon
Lavendon has announced the departure of its chairman David Hollywood, who has resigned as a director of the company. He is succeeded as group chairman by John Standen, the company's senior independent (non-executive) director.
Commenting on the change Tim Ross, nomination committee chairman, said: "The board wishes David well for the future and thanks him for the very significant contribution that he has made to the group over the past four years. We are highly fortunate to have a successor of the calibre of John Standen who has an excellent knowledge of the business, having joined the board in 2005."
The company says that it intends to appoint two additional non-executive directors in the near future, in order to further broaden and strengthen the board's range of skills and experience.
The reason for Hollywood’s departure is put down to time constraints, given his other business interests, including the finance directorship of a sizable private company. He is said to feel that given the nature of these he is no longer able to devote the time necessary to discharge his duties fully as a director and chairman of Lavendon.
