Mateco acquires Top Lift
German based access rental company Mateco has acquired Bavarian based Top Lift for an undisclosed sum.
Top Lift is based in Aschheim, near Munich and operates a fleet of around 220 lifts, including self-propelled and truck mounted models. Owner Rudolf Ertl will be retiring once the transition is complete.
This latest expansion move adds to two earlier acquisitions by Mateco this year, of Zuelzer platforms in Ravensburg and Kempten and Kuehne lifts Rentals of Kassel and Göttingen. It also opened a new location to the east of Munich.
Mateco chief executive Armin Rappen said: "After a good start from our new branch in Munich, we wanted to strengthen and accelerate our business in Bavaria. The acquisition of Top Lift will provide us with faster growth and even better customer focus and service, compared to purely organic growth.”

“The regional presence is a great strength for a company like ours which is based in Stuttgart. Top Lift and Mateco have long been very good and co-operative business partners.”
No changes are planned for the Top Lift staff, in fact the aim ios to ensure that customers see little change apart from having access to the larger Mateco fleet and market coverage form their usual contacts.
Mateco now has a fleet of around 4,000 units operation from 26 locations in Germany, France, Luxembourg and Poland.
