Alimak Hek opens office in Brazil

Leading hoist and mastclimber supplier Alimak Hek is to open a new regional sales office in Brazil on 1st January. Pepe Olguin - currently group global offshore/LNG manager - has been appointed managing director of Alimak Hek Brazil and will be in charge of setting up and developing the operation will provide support for the entire Latin American region.

Alimak Hek says it will initially focus on the development of sales in both the industrial and construction markets. After sales support will also play a significant part with the gradual introduction of a complete range of services as the base develops.

Patrik Nolåker, Alimak Hek's chief execuitive said: "The establishment of a regional operation in Brazil is an important step in implementing our global strategy, with strong presence in all major regions and countries globally. Much of the future economic growth will be in the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) and it is important that we are well positioned in these countries. The Brazilian market and many other countries in Latin America are currently experiencing significant economic growth and we have to leverage this by ensuring that we are close and easy to reach."
