Overhead crushing incident
A man was injured earlier today after he was involved in a crushing accident while using a boom lift at the BAE Systems plant in Samelsbury, near Preston, UK.
The man, a builder aged 41, was working at a height of around nine metres when he became trapped between the machines controls or guardrails and an overhead beam.
He was rescued by a colleague who saw what had happened and used another lift to come to his aid. He was air lifted to a hospital in Preston. His condition is not known at this time.
The police and Health & Safety Executive is investigating.
