Manitou sales jump 22 percent

Manitou the French Rough Terrain forklift and access equipment producer, has reported year to date revenues up by almost 22 percent on 2003, to €595 million for the nine months to the end of September 2004.

The third quarter saw a slowing of the rapid first half growth in the French “home” market, principally due to lower purchases by large rental companies. Export sales, meanwhile, continued to gather pace. The company has said that with its strong order book and continuing "robust demand it expects to exceed its €800 (£560) million plan for the full year.
