Judge upholds charges in crane collapse
A judge has upheld criminal manslaughter charges against New York crane owner James Lomma and mechanic Tibor Varganyi following an attempt to have the charges dismissed.
The trial is due to go to court later this year and concerns the collapse of a tower crane in New York City in May 2008.

Prosecutors claim that Lomma and Varganyi arranged for sub-standard welded repair to be carried out on the old Kodiak crane’s slew ring support which failed in the accident causing two deaths.
