Big rolling tower

London Tower Services has supplied Sceldebouw/Skanska with a massive bridged aluminium mobile tower structure for fixing ceiling trusses and glazing at University College London Hospital in Capper Street, London.

The structure measures five metres long by 9.7 metres wide, with an uninterrupted top platform at a height of 10.4 metres. The structure has been built as a large mobile tower and will be moved during construction.

The 10m high 5x9.7m tower during erection

The use of towers was necessitated by the fact that it is set up on a mezzanine floor over glass floor panels and the fact that the contractor wanted the very large platform. Finally once the roof is installed there is no exit point for a machine. While the tower can be taken out in component form.

While this is mobile it is certanly going to require some serious manpower to move it!
