Ramirent acquires Pekkaniska scaffolder

Ramirent Finland has acquired Finnish based scaffold and weather protection supplier Suomen Sääsuoja from owner Pekkaniska.

While this is an asset based deal, the acquired company’s management team and all employees will transfer to Ramirent under their current terms of employment.

Tuusula based Suomen Sääsuoja was established in 2005 and specialises in renting scaffolding and weather protection. In 2010, the company’s revenues were €5.9 million from two outlets – Tuusula and Pori.

Risto Toivonen, Suomen Sääsuoja’s managing Director and a shareholder said: “The decision of our parent company, Pekkaniska, to focus in the future on its personnel hoist and crane operations as well as Ramirent’s strong desire to develop and invest in the growing weather protection market made the decision to sell an easy one. In addition, from now on our customers will get even better service and a more extensive service range than before.”

Mika Eskola of Ramirent Finland added: “This acquisition strengthens Ramirent’s position in the growing weather protection market and enables us to offer a comprehensive range of services. Furthermore, the know-how and expertise in Suomen Sääsuoja will contribute to the development of our services and solidify Ramirent’s position within our core customer sectors.”
