Bay Crane takes first Roadmaster
New York based Bay Crane has placed the first order for the new 90 ton/81 tonne Terex Roadmaster 9000 truck crane launched at this year’s Conexpo.
The new crane is easily configured for road travel in all 50 states complete with a 50 metre main boom and maximum boom plus extension of 74 metres.
Bay Crane president Kenny Bernardo said: “As Bay Crane continues to expand its coverage across the Northeast with additional locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New Jersey, this new machine provides us the perfect combination of road-ability, long reach and heavy lift capacity to meet all of our lifting needs in the 90-ton class.”
“Its specially designed carrier offers excellent highway mobility with most of its counterweight on-board, making it the ideal taxi-fleet crane.”
Terex vice president Frank Bardonaro added: “The Roadmaster 9000 was built with and for our North American customers. We listened carefully to find out what they needed to be as competitive as possible in the under 100-ton class crane rental environment. The overwhelming consensus was clear - everyone wants a crane that is less expensive to operate and maintain than an All-Terrain, while offering equivalent lifting capacity.”

“We are convinced that we have succeeded in combining all these benefits into this model, and are proud that a leading company such as Bay Crane will be the first to put it to work. Bay Crane has always been a leader in innovation and does an outstanding job of taking care of its customers.

Good luck with the new purchase! Good to see one of the best crane rental companies taking on this concept and giving it a go.
Hope it works well and good on Terex for advancing what is needed!
