Makro Engenharia achieves ISO 14001

Brazilian based crane, rigging and heavy transport company Makro Engenharia has been certified as compliant with the ISO 14001 environmental management standard.

The certification process was managed by BRTüV – Brazilian TüV which is not only accredited by the relevant authorities in Brazil, but also accredited in Germany. The organisation audited, certified and validated the work carried out by Makro’s Quality, Safety, Environment and Health team, certifying the company as environmentally friendly.

Renata Franco, the QHSE manager of Makro Engenharia said: “A certification such as ISO 14001 is an important international acknowledgement for any company and denotes the existence of an efficient management system, and much more than that, a public commitment regarding its environmental responsibility.”

“It is a way to display to all stakeholders that the company meets its social obligations and that makes the difference, especially when so much is said about sustainability, and yet so few companies, operate in an environmentally responsible way.”

Forteleza based Makro was founded in 1977 and offers a wide range of crane rental including lattice boom trucks, crawlers and telescopics up to 650 tonnes capacity.
