Ramirent opens in Sochi

Ramirent has opened a new depot in Sochi, Russia, in order to benefit from the build up to the 2014 Winter Olympics as well as the growing rental market in southern Russia.

Until now Ramirent has focused its wholly owned operations in the Saint Petersburg and Moscow areas with local re-rent partners/agents in other regions, including, LLC Rostechnostroy in Sochi, which it has worked with since 2009

Kari Aulasmaa, senior vice president, Finland and Europe East said: “Thanks to our new outlet, we are now able to benefit from the business opportunities created by the Winter Olympics at a much greater scale. At the same time, we are strengthening our equipment rental offering in southern Russia.”

“Construction related to the Winter Olympics has made Sochi a third focus area in Russia for Ramirent. Demand for our machinery and equipment in Sochi is high, and our local partner has had excellent success in the area,” added Grigory Grif, country manager, Russia for Ramirent.

Ramirent has operated in Russia since 1988 and has three outlets in Saint Petersburg and two in Moscow -Sochi being its sixth location. It has a further 10 re-rent agents/partners across the country.
