First CTE Lithium ion Traccess 170Es

UK based Higher Access has taken delivery of the first CTE lithium ion battery powered Traccess 170E spider lifts.

CTE UK has supplied the Ramsbottom and Watlington depots of UK based spider lift rental specialist Higher Access, with the first lithium ion battery powered Traccess 170E spider lifts in the UK.

The new lifts have the same working envelope as the existing Traccess 170 models with 17 metre working height, 7.5 metres working outreach and 200kg platform capacity, but also offer clean, quiet, environmentally friendly features without the need for trailing cables.

Higher Access ordered the first two 170E with specific contracts in mind, they are equipped with non-marking tracks for indoor use and rotating platforms for

“difficult to get at” areas. The lithium battery offers up to five hours use between charges, with an eight hour recharge time – but can be used while plugged into an AC power source.

One of the machines went straight to work on a long term contract for a major Manchester based food company, which needed a highly compact, fume and noise free solution to get to some awkward cleaning and maintenance areas, on mezzanine floors where weight is a major issue – the 170E weighs just over 2,000kgs.

Paul Hyde, a director at Higher Access said: “the beauty about these new machines is they have the same credentials as our other 170s. yet run silently and fume free without a trailing cable.”

Hyde added that the new machines will also count towards the company’s plans to achieve ISO14001 Environment Management Standard accreditation.
