Terex donates to SC&R scholarships

Terex Cranes has pledged $21,000 to the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Foundation (SC&R Foundation) for a new 'corporate-named scholarship programme'.

The multi-year commitment is aimed at helping advance the education of SC&RA member employees and family members. Three other SC&RA members have also donated to the programme.

The first corporate scholarship will be awarded in 2012. The $21,000 donation, named the Terex Continuing Education Scholarship, will be applied at a rate of $3,000 a year for seven years.

Jackie Roskos, director of marketing and SC&R Foundation manager said: “The programme benefits the industry and company members by attracting and retaining qualified people in the industry. We are excited to have Terex partner with us as the first donor to the corporate-named scholarship programme.”
Frank Bardonaro, managing director of Terex Cranes North America added

“Terex is proud to help the SC&R Foundation create a programme which will add funding stability to its continuing education scholarships programme. The Foundation is instrumental in assuring on-going success in the education and safety training for the industry.”

Employees of SC&RA members and their family members are eligible for the scholarships. The course of study must lead to a bachelor/masters degree in a field related to the specialised carriers and rigging industry.
