Teupen commits to Ranger

German based spider lift manufacturer Teupen signed a new five year distribution deal with UK based Ranger Equipment at this year’s Vertikal Days.

Chesterfield based Ranger was founded by Steve Hadfield in 1999 and has represented the Teupen Leo range in the UK and Ireland since 2005, the last four years under a sole distributor contract.

The new agreement – completed before the current contract expires, formalises the commercial relationship between the two companies under the manufacturer’s new owners, Nord Holding.

Arjen Snijder, Teupen’s export sales director for Europe, said: “Ranger Equipment is one of our top distributors, we know from experience that Steve and his highly motivated team are the best representation possible for a company like us, being 100 percent dedicated to both sales and customer service.

“The strategy now is to maintain the leading position that Teupen has achieved in the UK through Ranger at the higher end of the range, and to achieve this position with the recently introduced and forthcoming new machines at the lower end of the range.”

Hadfield added: “We have been pleasantly surprised by a surge in orders and enquiry levels for Leo machines since the beginning of the year. A number of trading factors in the spider lift market have been reducing the price point gap between Teupen Leos and many competing machines. Customers are discovering that Teupen’s quality and reliability does not involve as great a price difference as they may once have expected.”

The deal comes as Ranger has let some of its other, more recent product line additions go, such as heavy duty specialised scissor lifts from PB Lifttechnik, which will now be handled by Bravi UK and Aichi booms and scissors.

Ranger has done an excellent job for Teupen over the years, this new contract will allow it to refocus its efforts on the Teupen line and invest in long term sales, marketing and product support in its market territory.
