Crane goes over in Florida

A truck crane tipped over in Naples, Florida yesterday while lifting a palm tree into place- outrigger set-up and soft ground may have been to blame.

The crane went over while lifting a tree


The crane, a 40 ton National 1800 boom truck based unit, owned by Miami based Harrison Crane. The unit was working with around 30 metres or so of boom out when it looks as though the front outrigger slipped off the mats and sank into the soft sandy ground.

The job was located on a private housebeing built on Gulf Shore Boulevard, near to the Naples Beach Club. Thankfully no one was injured in the incident. However the crane was badly damaged.
