Ernst van Hek returns

Ernst van Hek, previously of Hek and Alimak-Hek has established a new trading and distribution company - van Hek & Partner - in Tyrol, Vomperbach, north east of Innsbruck in Austria.

The ‘partner’ is Austrian engineer René Stich who will be responsible for sales management. The new company will start off representing Jekko mini cranes, Power Tower low level access platforms, MEC scissors and ATN booms and scissors in both Austria and neighbouring Eastern European countries.

The new company will also offer a wide variety of used machines as well as a large assortment of spare parts for all major aerial lift and mini crane manufacturers. An agreement has been reached with Raiffeisen Leasing for the provision of customer financing, while a team of independent service providers will supply the maintenance and repair support.

"We are proud that we could win these experienced partners for our project, because each one offers innovative and reliable solutions, which are not yet represented in the local market. We see great potential in both Austria and neighbouring countries", said van Hek. “Therefore we will have a very strong focus on setting up a dealer network in some Eastern European countries and are looking for cooperation partners in the area.”

The two partners will be attending Apex show in September in order to help man the stands of its main suppliers.

Van Hek, a member of the family that founded Hek mast climbers in Holland, left the access industry in April 2009 following a family tragedy and a decision to reassess his life and career.
