Baukran adds Wolffkran
German based tower crane specialist Baukran Logistik (BKL) has added the first Wolffkran tower cranes to its fleet and its sales efforts.
The company, Located in Forstinning near Munich, says that demand for high-quality cranes in the 100 to 300 tonne/metre class is consistently high, especially in middle and northern Europe. The Wolff 6031.12 is a leading player in this class, being well proven and yet ‘state-of-the-art’, and it is this combination that attracted BKL, which follows a policy of selecting the best models for a given job regardless of the manufacturer – thus gaining a mixed fleet with Liebherr, Comansa and Potain cranes available.
Alexander Volz, managing director of BKL said: “We want to be able to offer our clients the right crane for any construction site. The prestigious Wolff cranes have given us a targeted means of expanding our portfolio in the premium sector.”

Peter Schiefer managing partner of Wolffkran (L) and Alexander Volz, managing director of BKL seal the new partnership
“Wolffkran cranes are renowned among purchasers for their reliability and durability, and among rental companies for their rapid assembly and disassembly. Operators also appreciate them for their precise handling”.
A visible sign of the new ‘partnership’ between Wolff and BKL was the red Wolffkran tower crane rising above the official opening ceremony of the new BKL branch office in Frankfurt last week.
“There are currently 60 BKL cranes in operation in Frankfurt, we plan to increase the locally available fleet to 100 cranes in the short term”, adds Volz. “Our strategy of offering high-quality products for demanding construction sites has proven just as successful in Frankfurt as it has in all our established locations.”
This latest move follows the signing of a distribution type agreement in July with Spanish based tower crane company Comansa.
