Power line fatality in Oxfordshire
A young person was electrocuted earlier today next to an old quarry west of Oxford, UK after the aerial lift he was using came into contact with an overhead power line.
The youth, Dean Bough, aged 17 was working in a farm yard adjoining a former quarry in Brize Norton. The property is owned by the owner of a local construction company. A comment from the emergency services said that he touched a high tension cable and was thrown from the platform. Although this has not been fully confirmed.
Emergency crews, including an air ambulance, were called to the scene but the teenager had a cardiac arrest shortly after they arrived and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital in Oxford.
The Health & Safety Executive is investigating.
