NSG UK secures three year contract

Deeside, UK -based scaffolding and industrial services company NSG UK - acquired by the French-based Altrad group in June this year - has secured a three year maintenance contract with chemicals giant Tata Chemicals Europe (TCEL) to provide all scaffolding works at its Northwhich manufacturing sites in Winnington, Lostock and Middlewich.

Tata Chemicals Europe was formerly known as Brunner Mond, but was rebranded in April following its acquisition by Tata in 2006.

Mike Carr, managing director at NSG UK, said the contract was worth approximately £3 million over the three years, with potential for further growth.

Tata Chemicals is the world's second largest producer of soda ash. TCEL is headquartered in Northwich, UK, with its manufacturing operations within Cheshire producing soda ash, salt, sodium bicarbonate and calcium chloride.

“NSG UK will be providing scaffolding for all the maintenance and intervention works at the Cheshire sites on buildings and facilities of various size and structure,” said Carr. “We undertake a wide range of industrial services but scaffolding remains the core of our business and despite the tough economic climate we are enjoying a strong end to the year. As well as securing this contract and maintaining our success in the construction and engineering industries, we are also continuing to expand into a wide scope of sectors, including off shore, transport and social housing.”
