Bay Crane beefs up

New York based Bay Crane has expanded its existing crane fleet with seven new Liebherr All Terrain cranes from 100 to 400 tons capacity and 15 new Tadano cranes.

The new Liebherr’s include a six axle 350 tonne LTM 1350-6.1 and four five axle 220 tonne Liebherr LTM 1220-5.2s joining an already strong Liebherr AT fleet.

The Tadano order, placed through Tadano North America, includes six new 100 ton GR1000XL Rough Terrain cranes deliveries of which have already started, and six new 50 ton GR500XL Rough Terrains. The company has also ordered three new Tadano GS 300 XL 30 ton truck cranes.

The latest orders come on top of the company taking delivery of the first 90 ton Terex Roadmaster 9000, ordered at this year’s Conexpo. It says that the significant investment is intended to provide its “broad customer base with both the latest equipment and the most modern technology.”

Josh Wilbur manager of Bay Crane northeast operations added: “We have made significant penetration into the Northeast US with our fleet of 15 to 80 ton Tadano Rough Terrain Cranes and have been fortunate to have experienced a tremendous market acceptance for these cranes from our customers but especially from local crane operators and equipment superintendents. The addition of six additional 100 ton units will add tremendous depth to our strong Northeast line-up.”
