Liebherr makes it three in a row

Liebherr’s new LPS600 mobile harbour crane has been named ‘Crane of the Year’ by the maritime bulk industry’s IBJ. The third year in a row that the company has scooped this award.

Liebherr’s new LPS600 mobile harbour crane has been named ‘Crane of the Year’.

The 16 member judging panel gave the LPS 600 the award for its innovative ability to run on either a diesel or electric power and combine the power of each system with its new Pactronic hybrid drive. Which it says results in increased handling performance, double hoisting power and up to 100 percent faster hoisting speeds with less power consumption.

The crane was launched in 2010 and features a 50 metre boom and two 72 tonne winches, so far 10 units have been delivered.
