Spider in the pool

The city of Ryde near Sydney is installing fire sprinklers above the large pool at its Aquatic centre – yes water over the top of water – the problem it had was how to reach the space above the pool without disrupting the long opening hours?

The challenges involved restricted access into the pool room and limited space around the pool, not to mention a host of floor loading issues and potential for damage.

Zero-tailwsing outside of its base helps in these situations

The solution was found in the form of a 27 metre Ommelift 2750 RXBDJ spider lift with non marking rubber tracks.

The lift was able to move into place quickly once the pool was closed and the track all around the perimeter of the pool and reach all of the ceiling area over the pool without difficulty. It was also light enough not to cause floor loading problems, while the rubber tracks were gentle enough not to damage the surfaces en-route.

Around the other side of the pool no bother

Job done!

But sprinklers over the top of the pool?

This is a very good idea, as our local pool has many problems of random swimmers bursting into flames.
