New Southampton depot for Hewden

UK based rental company Hewden has opened a new depot in Southampton, close to the M27 motorway.

Depot manager Paul Curtis said: “The new depot is part of Hewden’s nationwide investment programme which has already seen us add over £21million worth of equipment to our fleet since the turn of the year. We are able to hold a much larger fleet of plant and access equipment at the new site, with additional space for cranes if required.”

“What’s more, we’ve moved our team of fitters, service engineers and hire desk staff here from our Fareham and Eastleigh depots so that they are under one roof. This has helped to improve communication and provides new and existing customers with a more lean and efficient operation.”

The new depot kicked off by donating a range of access and other equipment to the preparations for the Victorian Festival of Christmas at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

Terri Stannard, events manager at the Dockyard said: "As a charity, we are extremely grateful to Hewden for its support for four years now, their generosity is a huge help and it is always an absolute pleasure to work with them."
