52 metre Falcon for Petronas towers

Danish based TCA Lift has supplied a new 52 metre Falcon FS520C track mounted spider lift for the maintenance at the Petronas twin towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the second tallest building in the world at 379 metres high.

The new lift has been purchased for Suria KLCC the upmarket shopping mall at the foot of the twin towers, with the primary purpose to maintain and clean the inside of glass dome of the mall’s City Centre. The FS520C was selected for its 52 metre working height, low ground bearing pressure, jib versatility and other unique features.

Features of the six level crescent-shaped shopping mall include: a spacious centre court with a glimpse of the tip of the towers through the rooftop which allows natural sunlight to stream in, more than 270 specialty stores, open air cafes, food courts, cinemas and restaurants.

TCA Lift sales manager Brian Falck Schmidt said: “We are very proud to have been selected as an access supplier to Suria. The lift’s compact design, flexibility, minimum weight, maximum reach and safety are qualities which users of the Falcon Spider series appreciate in their daily work.”

“Features such as the double jib arm, automatic outrigger set up, steering of outrigger and chassis from the basket, turn the Falcon series into a product matching the demand of today in regards to speed, usability and safety.”

“The crawler version of the Falcon FS520C is the top model in the series and was only recently introduced to the market. We have had very good response so far and expect increased sales in the new year”, he added.
