Fork Rent goes with MCS
UK based telehandler rental company Fork Rent has selected MCS-rm rental management software.
A £30.9 million investment last year took the company’s fleet to over 1,600 units and led to a decision to adopt a new 15 user MCS-rm software solution which is now supporting its accounts, hire desk, service teams and senior management.
The Ipswich company is also opening new locations and expanded the business by 30 percent last year. It claims to have one of the youngest fleet age profiles in the industry and is JCB’s single largest customer.
Elaine Miller, Fork Rent’s operations director said:“We’ve experienced phenomenal growth in recent years, evolving from a relatively small, family-run concern into a major player in the sector. It’s very rewarding to see this growth, but it needs careful management to be profitable and sustainable.”
"Rather than managing individual spreadsheets, we can spend time using information to support our customer relationships. At our present rate of growth, without MCS-rm we might have needed to increase headcount and administration costs which could have led to rate increases for our customers.”

“This is an accurate measure of extra efficiency achieved so far. We’ve every intention of maximising the power of MCS-rm to automate our processes wherever possible and to support our ambitions for the business.”
MCS chief executive Guy van der Knaap, added: “We are delighted that Fork Rent has chosen MCS-rm to support its growth and automate essential but time-consuming tasks such as recording Road Fund Licences, managing the service history of equipment and vehicles, and tracking plant safety certifications. With these business processes taken care of by MCS-rm, the Fork Rent management team can focus on delivering excellent customer service and driving the company’s strategy for growth.”
