Kungaelv, Sweden based Arnab Kran & Lift (a division of Knutsen Maskin AS) is headed by managing director Martin Andersson. Both companies are also official Tadano Faun crane dealers.

Knutsen Maskin has purchased a Unic URW-295 as its first mini spider crane in its hire fleet. Arnab Kran & Lift’s first sale was to Aros Mobilkranar which purchased the smallest mini crane in the range, the Unic URW-094 model and a six tonne capacity Unic URW-706 which has already started work in Västerås, Sweden. The crane has been working on the roof of the City Hall lifted into position by a 250 tonne mobile crane. The spider crane will be working at a height of 65 metres for at least two months to replace façade panels on the structure.

Graeme Riley, chief operating officer of Unic Cranes Europe said: “The Norwegian and Swedish economies have recovered well from the recession and there are significant opportunities in the offshore, marine and renewable energy sectors, all of which may benefit from the lifting capabilities of Unic compact cranes. We’re looking forward to seeing what further impact our cranes can have on this market as a result of our new partnerships with Knutsen Maskin and Arnab Kran & Lift.”

Part of the GGR Group, Unic Cranes Europe is the European master distributor for Japanese manufacturer Furukawa Unic with 27 dealers across Europe and the Middle East. The recent unveiling of the world’s most powerful mini crane – the 10 tonne URW 1006 - means there are now 9 models in the Unic range from 0.995 tonnes to 10 tonnes in lifting capacity.
