New truck and crane for Rapid

UK access and hoist rental company Rapid Platforms has taken delivery of new truck complete with Palfinger loader crane.

The new rig, the company’s second new three axle Scania truck this year with an Andover Trailers plant bed, also includes a medium duty Palfinger loader crane for use within its hoist division.

The crane has been added in order to speed up the loading and unloading of the company’s larger material and goods hoists, as well as lifting them into position on site. The company says that it is also expected to prove useful for lifting access platforms over obstructions such as steps and walls etc.

Rapid Platform’s transport manager Paul Moss worked closely with Andover Trailers to design the perfect body for the company’s specific needs and the end unit has a slightly different specification to the first truck that was delivered in February.

“The new vehicle has fold over ramps which create a flat bedded lorry, allowing machines to be driven off and onto loading bays,” said Moss.

The company is also promoting the crane for rental in its own right for light duty crane hire.
