A trestle from antiquity

Spotted in Slough in the UK, a couple of builders working on a makeshift platform consisting of an old steel trestle frame topped with some sort of board for a 'platform' that looks more elastic than if it had been made of rubber.

Look at how that 'platform' bends

As is often the case these days the two ‘jokers’ are equipped with Hi-Vis vests - to ward off evil spirits and stop them from falling? Adding to the chronic state of the access equipment is the fact that in addition to its lack of quality it is simply not high enough, causing the two to stretch to the point where the likelihood of them falling was far higher than of them staying put.

Stretch... tip-toes and .... amazing that the whole thing did not come crashing down

The photos were taken on the mobile phone of a regular reader, in his own words: “My wife went to pick the youngest son up from school and could not believe what she saw. The platform! was visibly shaking, the deck was a board of some sort, they were hanging tiles on the bay of the house. Perhaps the Hi-vis is in case they fall off and drivers can see them instead of running them over?”

A definite Death Wish
