Truck mounted Death Wish

Spotted by a reader in Australia this week, a man using a hybrid form of powered access.

We are not sure where this was as our correspondent has not said and he has blanked out the licence plate. We believe it is in Queensland but… do not know. All he said was: “I thought you might be interested in this photo I took recently, I was blown away”

Why bother to unload?

The Haulotte H16TPX looks to be in a fine state of repair and probably ideal for the job at hand, however the user has clearly decided that either he cannot be bothered to offload the machine, or he needs a little more up and over capability?

As far as we can see the machine is not tied down, and the truck of course has no form of stabilisation. All it needs is for the operator to boom up to full elevation a little quickly – the truck leans and the boom overturns off the side of the vehicle.

A closer look reveals that the unit is even tied down

What’s the bet that our man in the platform is not wearing a harness either?
