City Lifting expands Spierings fleet
UK mobile and tower crane rental company City Lifting has acquired three of K-Lift’s Spierings mobile self-erecting tower cranes from Asset & Land Recovery.
The move follows the voluntary liquidation of K-Lift in January, at which time the cranes were transferred to sister company Asset & Land.

London-based City Lifting has acquired a four axle, 44 metre SK498-AT4, a five axle, 50 metre SK599-AT5 and a six axle, 60 metre SK1265-AT6. All three units are the latest generation of Spierings crane and include touch screen technology, air conditioning, automatic transmission and lift to the cab.

Trevor Jepson, managing director of City Lifting, said: “With thes latest additions we are looking to reduce the average age of our fleet. The cranes will directly replace the older cranes in our fleet, some of which date back as far as 1994. It was important to update and strengthen the fleet.”
City Lifting now has 15 Spierings mobile tower cranes, possibly the largest fleet in the UK. The three cranes are being collected from Asset & Land today.
Asset & Land Group still has a seven axle Spierings for which it will use in its demolition and construction divisions as well as for external rental.
