Tractor Death Wish

Spotted on Friday morning in Manchester, UK, a man trimming a hedge on a busy street but the equipment he is using could hardly be less suitable.

Using an expensive agricultural tractor with front end loader and forks, he has done the classic pallet job to create a platform. This is clearly a busy street with no parking at any time and no stopping or delivering during daytime hours.

Friday morning on a busy street in Manchester

The solution? To shunt the tractor up into the pavement / sidewalk thereby forcing any pedestrian to step out into the busy street. No attempt has been made to warn either pedestrians or motorists.

A closer look reveals the man at work oblivious to the risks

There are so many alternative, safer, cheaper and more efficient access solutions than this.. although we can assume that the tractor was available on loan.. hardly worth risking your life for is it? not to mention the lives of others.

No question about it a definite Death Wish.
