ESDA appoints administrator

German truck mounted aerial lift manufacturer ESDA Fahrzeugwerke GmbH has appointed an administrator and opened preliminary insolvency proceedings.

The appointment request was filed a few days ago at the district court in Göttingen, which appointed attorney Burghard Wegener as the administrator.

He told Vertikal.Net that his first job is to look into the legal and financial situation of the company and determine whether to launch proceedings leading to a sale or liquidation, or whether opportunities exist for continued operation of the business.

The company was asked for an official comment but has not responded, although it is positive about possibilities to remain in business and hopes to announce some developments in the next day or two.

ESDA is based in Göttingen and produces a range of truck mounted and trailer lifts as well as running a welding and fabricating business. The company has been in business for over 40 years, and building work platforms for the past 20 years. There was an ownership change in 2003 when Cemil and Attila Bayer took over the business.
