Liebherr STS crane for DP World
Liebherr Container Cranes has re-entered the Australian market after an absence of 35 years following an order for a ship-to-shore container crane from DP World Melbourne.
The company has ordered a Super Post Panamax with a waterside outreach of 50 metres, a 65 tonne lifting capacity and hoist speeds of up to 180 metres a minute.
Pat O’Leary, managing director of Liebherr Container Cranes, said: “We are delighted with this order, which marks the return of Liebherr Container Cranes to Australia, after an absence of over 35 years. Liebherr ship to shore cranes can be found throughout Australasia and South East Asia, particularly New Zealand and the Philippines and we are thrilled to be back in Australia.

“In 2010 we supplied DP World in Manila with two STS cranes and we welcome the opportunity to extend our presence in the region by supplying a Liebherr Super Post Panamax crane to DP World Melbourne, Australia’s largest container Port.”
