Nationwide adds to fleet
Nationwide platforms, the UK’s largest powered access rental company, has started to add nearly 1100 Skyjack scissor lifts to its fleet. The investment is part of a £23 million rejuvenation plan involving 1,700 new platforms by this Autumn.
The Skyjack scissors include five different models including 650, 7.8 metre working height SJ 3219s, 200 SJ 4632 and 170 SJ 3226 platforms. These are in addition to more than 50, SJ 6826RT and SJ 6832 models added earlier this year which have working heights of around 10 and 12 metres respectively.

Nearly 1100 new Skyjack scissor lifts have begun entering the Nationwide Platforms fleet.
All of the machines delivered in 2012 have been specified with features including additional joystick protection, drive creep speed mode switch, power to platform RCD protection and emission compliant Kubota diesel engines.
SkyJack also carried out a demonstration day at the Nationwide Platforms head office in Lutterworth, Leicestershire. Across the UK, Nationwide currently has more than 5,500 scissor lifts and 1,100 low level access platforms.
