70 metre Bronto enters Nationwide Platforms fleet
Nationwide Platforms Specialist Vehicles division has taken delivery its new 70 metre Bronto S70XDT truck mounted lift, complete with the new Safety Rail system.
The S70XDT and Safety Rail was unveiled at this year’s Vertikal Days and this is the very first unit to go into service. The new lift offers an outreach of up to 35 metres and two alternative emergency back-up systems, a full telematics tracking and diagnostic system with real time display function.

In terms of platforms it is equipped with a 360 degree TV camera cage and a fully hydraulic platform mounted winch/davit for handling materials up to 300Kg in weight as well as its standard high capacity extendable cage.
The safety rails run horizontally along both sides of the boom and comprise sliding anchor points for lanyards or other fall arrest systems in order to provide fall protection for individuals working on the deck of the machine, such as during daily inspections and other service tasks.
Nationwide Platforms will be deploying the XDT for a range of cross-sector applications including; media, electrical utilities, telecoms and wind farm maintenance, to facilities management, surveying.
Technical director (Specialist Vehicles) John Weights said: “The S70XDT represents a very strong addition to our Specialist Vehicles range and will help us continue to ensure that we deliver the highest calibre equipment to our customers. We were pleased to work with Bronto to develop the new rail system which complements the already comprehensive array of safety systems which come as standard with the machine.”
