Online auction as Facelift restructures

UK rental company Facelift is holding a huge online auction as part of a rationalising and restructuring of its fleet.

The company, which is listed as the 13th largest access rental company fleet in the UK and Ireland in this year’s Cranes & Access Top 30 rental companies, is looking to reduce its large spider lift fleet in order to alter the focus of its operations towards its most popular and profitable equipment ranges.

At the same time it is looking to cut the number of manufacturers in its self-propelled fleet, focusing largely on Niftylift booms and Skyjack scissor lifts. The auction is also timed to co-inside with the move out of its Basildon branch as it is merged with nearby Purfleet.

A number of Palazzani spider lifts are included in the auction

It says that the large specialist spider lifts, many of which it acquired with Universal, are complex and expensive pieces of equipment and no longer generate the margins that the company expects. It plans to invest the proceeds of the sale in expanding and updating its self-drive truck mounted fleet and in smaller, simpler crawler mounted spider lifts up to 25 metres.

The sale which runs until the 26th of this month includes:

A 37 metre Falcon 370 from 2007, a 24 metre Palazzani Mantis 24 from 1998, a two Denka DL22N 22 metre narrow trolley booms from 2001 and 2003, a 150ft JLG 150HAX articulated boom lift, a slew of Haulotte boom lifts from 16 to 25 metres working height of 2005 and 2006 vintage. Nifty tracked booms from 12 to 17 metres, an Ommelift 2500E trailer lift and Haulotte Star 10 mast booms along with many other models.

Scissor Lifts on the block include a wide range of Skyjack, Haulotte and Upright units, including at least one UpRight Speed Level from 2007. Vehicle mounted platforms are also well represented and run the full gamut of manufacturers, and mostly van mounts or trucks up to 7.5 tonnes. There is also a range of other equipment and transport including the company’s famous exhibition bus.
