Instant to open plant in China
Aluminium tower manufacturer Instant UpRight, will officially open a new manufacturing facility - UpRight Asia - in Foshan, Guangzhou, southern China next week.
Dealers and customers from Asia, the Middle East and Australia are due to attend the opening, which will be followed by a conference to be held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Guangzhou. The move follows the acquisition of Scaffworx, a tower manufacturer in Guangzhou, in 2011.

UpRight Asia will manufacture and supply a range of welded and non-welded mobile aluminium towers, low-level access products and aluminium system scaffold for Asia, Australasia, and the Middle East. China will also become the development centre for low-level access products.
Scott Van Der Valk will head up the new operation as general manager, he has over 23 years manufacturing experience and will be assisted by an experienced production and support team.
Allen Chew Swee Han joins the company as business development manager, responsible for Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Macau, Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Burma and Brunei. Zhang Feng Hai who has worked with Instant for many years is responsible for developing sales in China.

The company’s main Dublin plant will continue to manufacture and supply aluminium tower systems for Europe, its largest market and North America. Dublin will also continue to design and manufacture the company’s custom-made product portfolio for the power generation, aviation and industrial market sectors.
John Nevin, Instant UpRight’s managing director said: “UpRight Asia will allow the company to leverage the benefits of a lower cost manufacturing base together with 65 years of supplying premium quality products on a global scale. The company has built up a solid reputation supplying the Asian markets and the new plant will develop our business opportunities in this region even further. We anticipate significant growth possibilities.”
