CC6800 for Shaanxi
Chinese heavy lifting and haulage company Shaanxi Hoisting – a division of Shaanxi Petroleum Chemical Engineering and Construction – has taken delivery of 1,250 tonne Terex CC6800 crawler crane.
The new CC6800 carried out its maiden lift in the presence of Ken Lousberg, president of Terex China and Zhang Kaiyong, the chairman of Shaanxi Chemical Engineering, at the Jinbian Energy and Chemical Engineering Industrial Park in Yulin, Shaangxi. The lift involved hoisting and positioning a methanol furnace weighing 247 tonnes. The crane was configured with 72 metres of main boom plus 25 metre superlift mast. The ballast included 80 tonnes of regular counterweight and 160 tonnes of superlift ballast. The CC6800 has a maximum load moment of 13,952 tonne/metres and superlift radii of 15 to 24 metres.
Shaanxi Hoisting’s lift supervisor Wang Haigian said: “We can’t praise the design, reliability and stability of the crane enough. Its hydraulic precision and IC-1 touch screen control system proved to be a great advantage. With an average of 45,000 tonnes of heavy lifts to carry out before the project is completed, there is a lot of work for the CC 6800 left to do.”
