Harsco cuts back in Jersey
International scaffold, formwork and access rental company Harsco Infrastructure has closed its scaffolding service in Jersey and will lay off 17 local employees.
Jon Herbert, general manager of Harsco, said: “The current economic conditions in Jersey make it necessary to refocus our activities here, and unfortunately this will result in 17 redundancies. These will be made on a phased basis as current on-going contracts draw to a close.”
“Our equipment hire and sales business will not be affected by this decision and continues to trade as normal. We are proud to have a long term presence on the Channel Islands and the business is committed to supporting this market in the future.”
