New Access Franchisor

A new franchisor has entered the German self-drive truck mounted market Lift2Go headed by access industry veteran Harald Kuhnle of Kuhnle Arbeitsbühnen in Fellbach.

The company is a pure franchise operation and does not plan to rent equipment itself. Instead it plans to use the market and business knowledge of its staff to bring new companies into the business.

Ideally it is looking for existing equipment type companies that already have a successful business but who are looking for an extra ‘bolt on’ activity. It also prefers to find companies in areas that are not currently well served by such a service. Fleets will initially focus on 22, 23 and 33 metre truck mounted models.

"The self-drive truck mounted market is a local market, where the rental periods are often shorter. In addition, the machines are economically independent in terms of revenues and maintenance and repair costs. This market requires a company with local premises and a presence on the local market,” said Kuhnle.

Lift2Go says that it will purchase the equipment on behalf of its Franchisees at attractive and stable prices, provide the branding, the business information, systems training and marketing etc. and will not charge fixed franchise fees.
It expects to earn its fees from the profits that the franchisee makes. It will also help with pricing and standards and expects all franchisees to join IPAF and have all relevant staff IPAF trained.

As it turns out the first operations are in the Stuttgart region, which is already quite well served. According to southern sales manager Thomas Menner this was not planned or intended. The company is looking for new locations on a national level.
