Planet Movember

The men at UK based Planet Platforms have been growing moustaches in November as part of the annual Movember charity event.

The team has so far managed to raise over £600, which goes directly to help raise awareness of testicular cancer and other male health issues.

Planet Platforms Mo Bros captain and marketing manager, Tim Mee said: “The Movember profile has grown over recent years and the estimate this year is that the amount of men participating worldwide will double to 2 million. Last year, I remember thinking it would be a great cause to support, but this was in mid-November and we were too late. This year I was determined to get a posse together.”

The Movember team at Planet Platforms

Ensuring everyone willing to give it a go was clean shaven on November the 1st, the team has taken pictures each week as their moustaches have grown to prove their commitment to the Movember cause.

With fundraising the driving factor the team has come up with some innovative ideas, Mee for example sold the naming rights to his moustache to the highest bidder for the final week. Total IT management company, Servatech came up with the winning naming bid for the moustache calling it “the ServaStor cloud backup and Disaster recovery moustache” - An admirable donation towards a great cause.

“It’s been fantastic to have been involved with Movember and hopefully our efforts go some way to highlighting the issues surrounding men’s health. You can spot a Movember a mile away and I’ve spoken to total strangers on the back of it. Am I going to keep it? Never in a month of Sundays, but I’m already itching to give it a go next year!” added Mee.
