Eric John Abbey 1927 - 2012

Eric John Abbey, a long time secretary of PASMA and a director of alloy tower manufacturer Aliscaff, has died aged 85, following a short illness.

He passed away on 25th November at Colonia Court Nursing Home, Colchester, UK.

A statement from PASMA said:

“The Association was shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Eric John Abbey, a long serving secretary of PASMA and dedicated champion of mobile access towers. Eric was highly regarded throughout the industry for his knowledge and commitment to improving safety and standards in the access industry.”

“During his lifetime and with his enthusiastic support, he saw the Association grow from very modest beginnings to become one of the leading and largest trade associations in the work at height sector.”

“Over the years, and even into semi-retirement, his contribution to the Association and its members was considerable, resulting in the presentation of a richly deserved award for outstanding service.”

Funeral arrangements:

Friday, 21st December at 12 noon
The funeral service and committal will take place at 13:15 at Colchester Crematorium, Mersea Road, Colchester, CO2 8RU

Family flowers only, but donations, if desired, to the Colchester Corps of the Salvation Army.
